Each Fall Travel+Leisure magazine prints its A-List; travel agents who go above and
beyond the call to give their clients a truly memorable experience.
On the A-List since 2002: Celebrating the 14th Award
For the fourteenth consecutive year Select Italy was selected as one of the top
travel agents in the Travel+Leisure A-List®, the comprehensive list of the world's outstanding
travel agents. This year's A-List status was awarded to Beth Rubin, Manager of Custom Travel
Planning & Sales.
Select Italy's advisors have been featured on the list since 2002 and this is the
second year in a row Beth Rubin has been named to the prestigious award for her outstanding
expertise in custom Italian travel planning.
"While she can plan romantic getaways to Florence or family vacations to Rome,
Rubin encourages travelers look beyond popular destinations. In Calabria, she has helped clients
track their ancestors. From Milan, she's set up excursions to such cities as Mantua and Cremona.
Even on classic trips, Rubin tempts clients with unusual day trips or excursions like visiting a
saffron producer in Umbria as an addition to a winery-filled vacation in Tuscany and Piedmont,"
reports Travel + Leisure® Magazine.
Beth Rubin indicated the new Casa Fabbrini, Roma as the best new hotel she has experienced this year. Located
in the heart of the Eternal City, the hotel has only 5 rooms and is a great retreat in the middle of

2014 Travel + Leisure A-List Celebrating
Thirteen Years on the A-list
For the thirteenth consecutive year Select Italy was
selected as one of the top travel agents in the Travel+Leisure A-List®,
the comprehensive list of the world's outstanding travel agents. This
year's A-List status was awarded to only 133 industry members.
Since its inception, the Travel+Leisure A-List® has
mentioned Select Italy's founder, Andrea Sertoli. This year, the
prestigious 2014 A-List of Top Travel Advisor included Ms. Beth Rubin,
Manager of Custom Travel Planning & Sales, for her expertise in custom
Italian travel planning.
Rubin suggested the one-of-a-kind 24-room
D.O.M. Hotel Roma as her new favorite accommodation. It is housed in
a monastery and located on what she considers the Eternal City's most
beautiful street. She also encourages travelers to look beyond the most
popular destinations and follow the more off-the-beaten-path corners of
the Bel Paese. She predicts that Mantua and Cremona, with their unique
Lombard culture will be discovered as perfect pairings with the Expo
Milano 2015, which kicks off in May of next year.
2013 Travel + Leisure A-List Twelve for Twelve
For the twelfth consecutive year Select Italy was selected as
one of the top travel agents in the Travel + Leisure A-List, the comprehensive
list of the world's outstanding travel agents, with this year's A-List status
being awarded to only 161 of the industry's best in the world.
Since the inception of the Travel + Leisure A-List, Select
Italy has been present in the person of its founder Andrea Sertoli, who
considered the inclusion into the list a significant achievement and a
recognition of his desire to offer a specialized, tailored travel service with
the ability to create state-of-the-art tours and customized itineraries.
This year he suggested the eight-room
Monaci delle Terre Nere in Sicily, which sits on the slopes of the
active Mount Etna volcano. Here, "the owner has an enormous respect for the
environment and it shows, the lush estate retains a rustic sense of place and is
partly fueled by solar energy." Nature lovers can take advantage of the hotel's
al fresco yoga classes, swimming pool, organic farm and holistic massage program.
Foodies will appreciate Chef Rosella's particular gift for transforming local
ingredients into high quality dishes accompanied by wines chosen by the owner.

Eleventh Time's the Charm...
Keeping with tradition, while redefining what it means to be
the "best of the best," Select Italy Founder Andrea Sertoli once again graces
Travel+Leisure's A-List of top travel agents for the 11th
year in a row.
This year Sertoli predicts that the trendy new destination for
American tourists will be the Southern Italian region of
Basilicata. Situated on the instep of Italy's boot,
Basilicata is one of the oldest lands inhabited by human beings. Its heritage
lives on in Matera's sassi with their 9,000 year old cave homes and rupestrian
churches. A rich culinary tradition coupled with a contemporary vibrance in all
the performing and visual arts makes Basilicata a region to discover with the
eyes of an explorer.
