Ever heard the story about the origins of Zinfandel? Did you know it originated in Croatia and then made its way to California through Puglia? The Zinquest led by the UC Davis professor in 2000s revealed the closest relative to America's favorite grape to be Crljenak Kastelanski from Kastela, in Split's immediate vicinity.
In one of the first wine bars in Split, you will have an opportunity to taste five different wines along with a platter of Dalmatian delicacies. Your sommelier will guide you through the tasting, explaining a bit about each wine, the winery it is coming from, and its place in the Croatian Zinfandel story.
