    Zagreb City Tour

Zagreb City Tour

  • City: Zagreb
  • Duration: Approximately 2 or 4 hours depending on your selection.

Zagreb is Croatia's capital and biggest city with a population of nearly one million. Nestled between the Panonian plain, the edge of the Alps and the Dinaric range, it has been Europe's crossing point for centuries. The city dates back to the Middle Ages and has grown out of two medieval settlements that had developed on neighboring hills - Kaptol and Gradec.

Choose between the following two options and get to know Zagreb - one of the smallest, yet most diverse capitals of Europe.

  • Introduction to Zagreb: This two-hour tour will start at the Ban Jelacic Square and introduce you to the two neighboring settlements that comprise the Old Town, including the St. Stephen's Cathedral that dominates the skyline with its neo-Gothic style, Dolac market, the Stone Gate with the icon of Virgin Mary, the House of Parliament, the Funicular and the Lotrscak Tower among others.

  • Zagreb: Complete Puzzle: Zagreb is much more than just the Old Town. Including all the sites covered in the Intro tour, this four-hour guided tour takes you to see the 'downtown' with the examples of the 19th century architecture: National Theater, Main Railway Station, and Art Pavilion. Continuing in a car, you will cross the river Sava and enter the 'New Zagreb', built after 1950 with the Hippodrome, New Museum of Contemporary Art, and numerous parks that have turned this area into one of the most desirable places to live. The end of the tour will be at the Mirogoj Cemetery - its monumental arcades, pavilions and domes were designed in the 19th century by Hermann Bolle. One of the most beautiful cemeteries in all of Europe, this is also a beautiful park in its own right, as well as an open-air art gallery.
